Obituary of Barry Andrew Williams

WILLIAMS, Barry Andrew, Passed peacefully at home on September 3, 2021, after a lengthy battle with ALS at the age of 65. Predeceased by his parents Roger and Evelyn. Beloved husband to Mary. Devoted Stepfather to Ryan and Christina Gagnier. Treasured Gampy to Aubrey and Austin. Dear brother of Curt, Clint, Carl, Eric, and Paul. Dear son in-law to Linda Marro and brother in-law to Tony Marro. Barry will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Barry was a kind and gentle soul who gave unconditional love to everyone he met. He was an avid fisherman and talented musician. He was truly an animal lover and enjoyed raising parrots. You could always find him with a cigar and whiskey, ready to have a good time. He left his beloved state of Texas and moved to Canada in 2012. A heartfelt thank you goes out to his brother Curt (Sonja), brother Carl (Becca), Dan Pline, Beth Pline, and dear friend Rob Walston who all made the trip to see Barry. Your visits brought joy and happiness to his life. Special thank you to nurse Karen and PSW’s Steve and Daniel. You all took such great care of Barry, always going above and beyond. I would also like to thank my children, and my dear special friends for all their love and support during this journey. I could not have done it without you. Barry was a brave and courageous warrior during his battle. He kept his sense of humour and still had a smile for everyone. Rest easy my love. I will always carry you in my heart. In keeping with Barry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private service will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East, 519-253-7234. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society of Windsor and Essex County or to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County would be greatly appreciated.
