Obituary of Colin Keith Barrow

Colin Keith Barrow 

April 19^th, 1954 – August 24^th, 2021 

Peacefully passed at home in his 68th year. Husband of 42 years to Mary (McDougall).  Father to Elizabeth (Mark) Winchester of Paris, ON and James of Windsor. Grandpa, affectionately known as “Papa” to Harrison and Jackson.  Dearest friend of Dave (Diane) Lebert of Windsor.  Predeceased by his parents Melbourne (2018) and Ann (1986) and his brother Kevin (1978)  

After he was permanently injured in a car accident he dedicated his life to his family.  An involved dad, he attended every activity and cheered on his kids.  He was recognized by many around the Riverside neighbourhood while driving his ‘B FAMLY’ minivan and shuttled many friends to and from school and events, many who affectionately considered him a second dad into adulthood. 

For many years he volunteered at the Racing Against Drugs event hosted by the RCMP.   He liked to spend many of his summers driving around in his ‘classic car’ and spending time with friends at the event ‘WAMBO’ in Wallaceburg, ON and 'Windsor Weekend' in Grand Bend, ON.

He could make friends and strike up a conversation with anyone he crossed paths with, having many tales to tell from his more adventurous days gone by and was proud to have maintained his sobriety for 30 years.  He loved to impart wisdom when he could, sharing from his own experiences and life's lessons.

He lived fiercely, he loved fiercely, he argued fiercely, having a Welsh stubborn streak that came from his father.   

Although he faced many difficulties with his health, he tried to look forward to the happiest parts of his life – looking forward to the next coffee or phone call with a friend, the next episode of Coronation Street; or especially a visit with his kids and grandkids.

Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7234 on Monday, August 30th from 6-9pm. A Chapel Service will take place on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021 at 11am. Reservations are required to attend the chapel service. Please call 519-253-7234 between 8:30am and 4:00pm to make a reservation.
