Obituary of Maria "Mary" Amelia Blunte

BLUNTE, Mary

1946-2021 

With the family she loved at her side, on July 24, 2021 Maria Amelia Blunte slipped away to a better place. Left to mourn is her beloved husband of 45 years Ivan Blunte, and her loving children Isabel Roth (David) and Marvin Blunte. Cherished grandmother of Ashley Roth and Tyler Roth. Also left to mourn are special friends Ellen Archer, Jeanne McKellar, and Louise Martineau. She will be missed by many relatives in Canada, Portugal and the USA. In her spare time, Maria loved travelling and was an avid rock collector, but most of all her favourite moments were those spent with her family. The family wishes to thank their family doctor, Dr. Tiffany Czilli, Maria’s oncologist Dr. Tarek Elfiki as well as Karen Bray, and Lisa Hanlon from St. Elizabeth Health Care, and the incredible staff at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre and the outstanding team at Hospice of Windsor-Essex County. Memorial visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required to attend the Funeral Service. Masks must be worn while in the funeral home. In kindness, memorial donations to the Cancer Program at Windsor Regional Hospital or the Hospice of Windsor-Essex County would be appreciated by the family.
