Passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side at the age of 88. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Evelyn Chambers. Beloved husband of Gwen (nee Stein) for 66 years. Loving father of V-Ann Day (Randy), Greg and Brad (Lisa). Cherished grandfather of Michael Day (Leah Waisberg), Jackie Day (Sam Wallen), Keagan Chambers and great grandfather of Emma and Owen. Dear brother of Marjorie Woolley of Walsingham and Mary McVey (Jack) of New Liskerd and brother in-law of Gordon Stein (Elsa), Donald Stein (Dora), John Stein (Celeste) and Virginia Levasseur. Predeceased by his sister Doreen Ross (2018) (Glenn) and his brother Ralph (1958). Lyle is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lyle was very involved with Emeryville, Tecumseh and Belle River baseball and hockey. He attended the Ford Trade School, however most of his career years were spent with Chrysler in the USA and Canada. He was a dedicated member of Lakeshore St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and was also a former teacher at St. Clair College specializing in Industrial Engineering. In his retirement years, he was often found playing tennis and baseball and travelling to Florida with Gwen over the last 20 years where they participated in tennis tournaments together. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East, 519-253-7234 on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow. Reservations are required to attend the funeral service only. Please call Windsor Chapel between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to secure a reservation. Masks are required.
