Obituary of Diane Ryan
Diane Ryan (1968-2021)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Diane on June 16, 2021, at the age of 53, surrounded with love. Our grief is only lightened by the knowledge that her journey has now taken her closer to her eternal home in Heaven where we will be together again.
She asked that the phrase "lost her battle with cancer" not be used when announcing her passing. As she said, "It was never a fair fight."
Diane was a devoted Catholic, wife and mother. She will be forever loved and missed by those she always referred to as her "three favorite people" - her husband, Scott and her two adored children, Jacob and Emily. Diane was always thankful for the gift of every new day she was given to support and cheer on her children as they grew to adulthood. So many of her best qualities live on through them. Also survived by mother, Carolyn, and sisters, Melissa and Carrie who will remember the joy and love Diane brought to everyone.
Diane was a dedicated employee of the City of Windsor for more than 20 years and a long-time parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in LaSalle, where she and Scott were married on October 10, 1992.
She was a true inspiration and earned much love and respect by so many others by choosing to live her life with JOY. Her motto was "Life is Good. God is Great." She was generous with her time, energy and talents and loved hosting holidays and events at our home. Her special traditions will certainly continue for many years to come.
We express our gratitude to the entire team at Victoria Hospital in London, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and Hospice Windsor. To assist in the research for this and other rare types of disease, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca are greatly appreciated.
