Obituary of Etienne Oscar Hanssens

HANSSENS, Etienne Oscar 

August 31, 1931- May 31, 2021 

Passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at Iler Lodge, at the age of 89. Reunited with his late wife Leona (nee Gaytant) for 60 + years. Best friend and father of Ricky Hanssens. Dear son of the late Joseph and Blanche Hanssens (nee Withouck). Beloved brother of the late Noel Hanssens. Etienne will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends here, Florida, and Belgium. Etienne immigrated to Canada and Leona came shortly after. Together they started a family and had their son Ricky. He was a dedicated employee of Ford Motor Company before retiring and spending his winters in Florida with Leona and Ricky. Etienne enjoyed life, always with a smile, and sharing happiness with those around him. His energy was contagious. As per Etienne’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
