FORTIN-Lionel Marius
Born on June 17, 1933 in St. Gedeon, Frontenac Quebec passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May19, 2021 at the age of 87 years. Reunited with his loving wife the late Dolores (Nee Brassard) (2017). Dear father of Ginette (late Ray ) Normandeau, Lisa Fortin and Murielle (Imad) Thomas. Cherished grandpa of Natalie Legendre and Demetri Gianopoulos, Tina and Rob Liburdi, Anthony and Melissa Rainone, Katie and Jake Fortin-Meritt, Nicole Fortin-Nantais and Mitch Amante, Tanya Thomas and Frank Oliverio, Chad and Brittany Thomas. Dear great grandfather of Anthony , Emily and Maya Liburdi, Anthony Rainone and Vanessa, Harrison and Baby Fortin-Meritt, Avery and Kate Thomas. He was the youngest and the last of 17 brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Lionel retired from Chrysler Canada and was a member of the Local 444. Lionel was also a well accomplished musician. Due to Co-vid restrictions a private family graveside service was held at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. There will be a celebration of Lionel's life later on when restrictions are lifted. A special thank you to all the Doctors, Nurses, PSW’s, Hospice, Cancer Clinic and the Red Cross for all your attention to Lionel’s care we are truly thankful to all of you. As your expression of sympathy donations would be appreciated by the family to Hospice of Windsor, Red Cross, or the Windsor Regional Cancer Clinic.
