Obituary of Maureen Lalonde

LALONDE, Maureen "Moe"

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Maureen “Moe” on May 9th, 2021, surrounded by her beloved children. Moe was exceptionally proud to be a mommy to Myles, Kellie, and Katie. Will be missed by lifetime friend and father of her children, Paul Lalonde. Predeceased by parents George and Doreen Ashton, and brother Michael Ashton. Loving and dedicated sister to Jacqueline Sanger (Rick), Eileen Anderson (Paul), Kathleen Caille (Norm), and sister in law Cheryl Ashton. Loved by in laws Rhea, Denise, Denis, Paulette (Jim), John (Elaine), and Nicole. Cherished Auntie Moe to many nieces and nephews and their children. Maureen will be missed by many lifelong friends, and family. Moe was a loving and dedicated mother, sister, aunt, friend, and wife. Life was filled with many highs and lows for Moe. She fought many battles. One she was most proud of was being a double lung recipient. We know she fought so long and hard for her family. The one thing she instilled in her kids was blood is thicker than water, and one day at a time. She lived by this, she was truly the glue to our family. Whether it be at a hockey rink, soccer field, ball diamond, or track. Moe was her kids and all of her nieces and nephews biggest fan. Her involvement in family activities didn't end there. She would go out of her way for playdates, coffee, game night, or just drop in. To her, each day she had was a gift from her donor, a gift from God. She cherished every memory. We all had a special place in our heart for Auntie Moe. Her selfless attitude didn't end with family. She was a dear friend to many. She was also involved in Trillium, Alanon, and her local Church. Moe wanted to give to everyone, and would help anyone who needed her. She was a hero, role model, friend and most of all the best mommy we could ask for. Private visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave., 519-253-7234, on Friday, May 14, 2021. A private service will be held on Saturday, May 15, followed by cremation. Moe was a double lung transplant recipient. We would like to send a special thanks to Trillium Gift of Life, and her donor family for the 9 extra years we shared with her. An extended thank you to her absolute favourite doctor, Dr. Winston Rajkumar for keeping her fighting all these years. This isn’t goodbye, you will live in our hearts forever. We love you Mommy.
