Obituary of Dennis Trubyk

Trubyk, Michael "Dennis"

Dennis Michael Samuel Barry Trubyk

Born on April 3, 1954 in ThunderBay, Dennis spent many memorable summers in Sioux Lookout fishing and swimming with his many cousins. He grew up in Winnipeg where he raised a family with his wife, Sandra(Clubb)and worked as a pipe fitter at CN Rail for many years before eventually settling in Windsor, Ontario where he enjoyed spending time in his backyard pool and cruising around town in his corvette. Dennis passed away at his home in Windsor after a 21-year battle with cancer on May 4, 2021. Dennis was very skilled at a lot of things, but his specialty was making friends. You could place Dennis anywhere in the world and he would find a friend, young or old. He was known by many to be quite the Mr. Fix-it-willing to help anyone with anything, but also completed multiple renovations in every home he ever lived in, as well as in his daughter’s home in Winnipeg. Dennis enjoyed traveling, but even more so, loved being at home surrounded by his family.

He leaves behind his wife, Sandy, daughters Breean and Brittny (Jonny) as well as four grandchildren, Quentin, Donovan, Rileigh and Lorelai. He is predeceased by his sisters, Michelle and Carol.

I miss you,

I would call you to comeback to us and stay,

If for only one more year, month or day.

But I realize that would be cruel of me,

Since you lost your battle, you fought so valiantly.

You are now in God’s warm embrace,

Free of pain and in a loving place.

Surrounded by all family and friends,

Who were there to greet you, at your journey’s end.

I reflect on what use to be,

When I was 22 and you were 23.

We were married on a rainy September 24,

I said I love you and you spoke you loved me more.

Our love did grow with blessings of two,

Breean and Brittny and much work to do.

In later years we threw open our arms, oh my!

To 4 beautiful grandbabies: Quentin, Dovovan, Rileigh and lil’ Lorelai.

Many days we saw you fight for your life,

To stay here on earth as father, Papa and me as your wife.

How we hated to see your body grew weak,

We had so many questions with reasons to seek.

Why such a beautiful and giving person your were,

Was taken from us in such a hastened blur.

But you suffered enough - we know you fought your best!

Now in God’s hands, it’s your turn to rest.

Overwhelming miss you Dennis !!

Love Sandy
