It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of André on April 11, 2021. Loving husband of Solange (Nee Gadoury). Loving Papa of Denis (Janice), Joe-Anne, Louise (Pierre), Pierrette, Diane (Roger) and André (Denise). Cherished Pépère of Jocelyne, David, Renée, Phillip, Eric, Julien, Vincent, Sylvain, Céline, Jacques and Joshua. Great Pépère of Lily-Anne, Kayla, Skylar, Derek, Madison, Natasha, Taylor and Victor. Predeceased by his parents Wellée Plante and Yvonne (Nee Dupont). Dear brother of the late Valérien (late Colette), late Yves (Jeannine), late Hervé, Huguette (late Jean), late Vital (Noëlla), late Carol (late Normand), late Guy (Hélène), late Anicet, late Dorothée (late Paul), late Jacques (Mary) and Fernande (Claude). He will also be missed by his in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. André was born in St. Magloire, Quebec on January 26, 1938. André was a true French Canadian. He was employed by Great Lakes Forging for 27 years until their closure. He was then employed at Ford Motor Company for 13 years as a Millwright. André and Solange were married for 63 years, Solange was the love of his life. Together they raised an amazing family through hard work and dedication to each other. André enjoyed being with family and was always so very proud of each and every one of his children. We spent many celebrations and wonderful times together as a family. Even at birth with only weighing 2 lbs, he was an inspiration to all of us, showing his strength by never giving up and fighting each time he had another health issue. Our father was very spiritual and had a strong catholic faith. Solange was always by his side and her love never waivered for him. André was always willing to lend a hand to all of us when needed. He loved working on and repairing small engines and was a natural at it. He had a definite love for his Ford Trucks and Lincolns and he always had a huge smile from ear to ear when he purchased a new shiny vehicle. He enjoyed playing cards and his Hockey Night in Canada games with family and friends “Go Montreal Canadiens”. His favorite side kick was his dog Peanut, they were always together. André was a member of Club d’Age d’Or, Chevalier Colombe and Club Alouette. A special thank you to Dr. Geoff Butler, Paramed, LHIN-CCAC, Hospice and all our family and friends who have reached out to us during this time.
