Obituary of Kelley Ann Gates

GATES, Kelley Ann “Missy”
It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear daughter, sister and aunt at the age of 53 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Beloved daughter of Richard and the late Kathleen Gates (2014). Dear sister to Corina Chyz. Proud aunt of Trevor (Munchkin) and Kalman (Shrimp) Chyz all of Windsor, Ontario. She will be deeply missed by her two fur babies, Squeaks and Squirt. Special sis to Michelle Anderson-Warren of Inkster, MI and special auntie to Kaleena and Ryan Robinet of Holland, Ohio. Cherished friend to Rob and Brian of Vancouver. She will forever be remembered by lifelong friends Bernadette Bondy and Niecy Morand and families. Survived by aunt Judy Raymond and her family (Windsor). Predeceased by aunt Frances Bean of Bermuda (2014) and aunt Joan Taylor of England (2016). She will be missed by extended family in Windsor, Bermuda, England as well as Germany. Kelley was born August 18th, 1967 in Korbecke, Germany. After moving back to Canada in 1976 she would live in New Brunswick, Amherstburg and Windsor. She attended both General Amherst High School and Ecole Secondaire l’Essor. It was in 2006 she decided to try something new. She started in Inuvik, NWT before deciding to settle in Vancouver for the last 14 years. Kelley loved the city and all it had to offer, from her balcony view of the snow covered mountains to the acceptance of all walks of life. Although she missed her family, especially her nephews, Vancouver was her home. She wasn’t afraid of telling you what she thought, and she may not have had much to give, but she would give you half if she saw you were in need. She will be remembered for her knowledge, her boisterous cackle, her love of cats, and her big heart. She will now rest easy with Mom and her dear friend Babette. Memorial visitation will take place at  Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A memorial service for Kelley "Missy" will take place Monday March 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Reservations and masks are required to attend Visitation, Memorial Service.
