Obituary of Zoltan Varga

VARGA, Zoltan

September 15, 1925 - March 12, 2021

Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Southwood Lakes Extendicare, at the age of 95.

Predeceased by his wife Isabel (nee Calsavara, 1992). Dear dad of Bill (Nancy) of Shelby Township MI, Janice (Clint) of West Bloomfield, MI, and David (Kim) of B.C. Caring Grandpa of Dane Varga, Geoffrey Varga, David Greenwood (Erin), Leigh (Jason), Matthew and Laurel Dadswell (Damian). Loving brother of Julius and wife Ethel of Port Dover Ontario. Predeceased by brother William (Helen), brother-in-law’s Joseph Calsavara (Emma) and Leo Calsavara (Donna Mae.) Survived by several nieces and nephews.

Zoltan was a proud and dedicated employee of Chrysler Canada for 32 years. Dad was a lifelong Maple Leafs fan who never wavered in his support no matter how bad they played. He was known to call a few Mulligans on the golf course with his buddies especially dear friend John Kolyvek. Windsor Casino appreciated dads frequent patronage over the years! We’re grateful for all dad has given us during his lifetime, such as his work ethic, rides to all our sports events, his Hungarian recipes, telling us we can’t go swimming for an hour after we eat as kids and vacations to Grand Bend with the Jasin’s. Our family was surrounded by wonderful friends over the years. Jasin’s, Yovanovich’s, Parisotto’s, Lindquist’s, and Grayson’s to name a few. We have so many happy memories of time spent together!

Thank you to the dedicated staff at Southwood Lakes Extendicare who provided excellent care to our dad the past five months. Dad was previously a resident of Kensington Court where the staff made a wonderful, caring home for him for over four years. We are forever grateful to grandson David for being Grandpas loving caregiver over the past year as the border and travel restrictions separated us.

Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234. A private family burial will take place. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com, as well as raising a glass to a life well lived. Cards of condolence can be sent to the family c/o David Greenwood, 1334 Tourangeau Rd., Windsor, Ontario N8Y 4H9.
