ALEX WAS A KIND MAN Alex was a kind man I know this is so, I tell this story though a white man I am,. You may believe my story, or believe it not, As Alex shared to me stories, And ways of his people. Which I enjoyed many times, maybe not times enough. When Alex passed on a great wind arose, It blew brave and strong like no other, it rose, It roared a whole day that wind it did screech, And I believe it was his kindred spirits, From away back in time, Knew Alex was a very, very kind man. And they wanted his spirit to join them afar. As their wind whisked his spirit, Sped away to their place, Guaranteed he’d get there as the wind roared all day, To join them as they wanted him far, far away, Since they knew for sure that he was a kind man. And the next day was calm as he lay there in peace, For all us to honour and to wish him his peace, So I say to you Alex, ni wóphila, Thank you, good friend, From a white man who knew that, Alex was a kind man. friend Arthur.
