Obituary of Shirley Louise Peck
Passed away peacefully at Metropolitan Hospital on Monday November 4, 2019. Beloved wife of Bishop Jack Peck of Windsor. Daughter of the late Louis and Evalynn Devos. Mother of the late John Louis Peck (2003), Sheila Marie Groombridge and David. C. B. Peck. Mother-in-law to Delwyn Peck, William Groombridge (2006) and Michelle Huminicki. Grandmother of the late Christopher, Michael and Alex Peck, Benjamin and Kevin Groombridge (Lesley), Ryan and Julia Peck and Josephine Humunicki-Peck. Great grandmother to William, Lily and Lincoln Groombridge.
Shirley loved reading, walks in the woods, plays, symphony, bicycle riding, canoeing and travelling, especially by train. She volunteered to care for pre-school children and supported many charities. She enriched the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren through her patient love and genuine interest and attentiveness. Her love of family and friends knew no bounds. She was the heart and soul of the family.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Metropolitan hospital, Dr. Upneja and for the pastoral care she received. Donations can be made to Christian Horizons in Windsor-Essex, John and Christopher Fund at Huron University College in London, Ontario and St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Windsor, Ontario. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Windsor Chapel (Central location at 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E.) on Wednesday November 6, 2019 at 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Visiting will continue from 10a.m. until 11a.m. at the time of funeral service at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Windsor on Thurs. November 7, 2019. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Cemetery in Windsor.
