Obituary of Maria Cossarini
It is with sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Maria, our beloved mother, Nonna and Nonna B. Maria was born and raised in Bonzicco, Dignano, Italy and married the love of her life Guerrino. The family immigrated to Canada in April 1951 to join their extended family and to provide a better life for their two young daughters. She was predeceased by her loving husband Guerrino (1979), her brother Giuseppe and her sister Gemma.
Devoted mother to Gemma (Gianni) and Bruna (late Dennis). Adored Nonna to Shannen (Mike), Alessia (Kevin) and Jessica (Dwalonn). Loving Nonna B to Colton, Sienna, Jordyn, Ciara, Logan and Noah. Also left to mourn is her brother Luigi (Maria) and many nieces and nephews in Windsor and Italy.
Maria was a hard-working and devoted wife, mother and nonna. She was an avid gardener who loved every inch of her garden, especially her roses. She spent many hours working lovingly on her many crafts, which included sewing, knitting, crocheting and ceramics. Maria was a long-time member of the Caboto Ladies Axillary. She will be remembered as a caring, helpful mother and grandmother who loved her family very much. We have been privileged to be guided by her wisdom and compassion and to have received her love. Our family would like to express our love and thanks to Zia Maria and Zio Luigi for their continued support over the years. We would also like to extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Extendicare Southwood Lakes, Walkerville House, for their compassionate care of our mother. The attention and love they showed for Maria was apparent in everything they did.
