Obituary of Jozef Rudnicki

RUDNICKI, Jozef “Jozek” “Joe” December 8, 1936 – December 24, 2020 Passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, with close family at his side on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 84 years of age. Beloved husband of Jozefa “Josephine” for almost 50 wonderful years. Predeceased by his mother (Jadwiga), father (Feliks) and brother (Jan) in Poland. Loving father “tata” to his son Richard and daughter-in-law Kinga (nee Kluska). Loving grandfather “dziadzia” to Matthew, Robert and Isabella. Joe immigrated to Canada in 1965 and was employed at the General Motors Transmission Plant for over 30 years, working as a Pre-Set Technician before retiring. Beyond work, he loved to demonstrate his handy man skills renovating homes, fixing things and helping family and friends. He liked spending time with family and friends telling jokes and funny stories, while relaxing by the lake on the beach at the cottage. He regularly tried his luck at Casino Windsor since retiring 20 years ago. He also enjoyed being with animals and recently rescued 2 cats which were a source of enjoyment to him. Most of all, he relished his role as a proud “dziadzia” to his 3 grandkids whom he adored and cherished beyond anything. Joe’s wish was that he be cremated. He also insisted that only a happy celebration of his life be held in his honor. Due to the unprecedented restrictions imposed on public gatherings this holiday season, the family has decided to hold a celebration of his life in the New Year once COVID restrictions and risks have subsided. A date and venue will be communicated later. Arrangements entrusted to the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Road East, 519-253-7234. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jozef can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
