Obituary of Fern Maria Poulson

POULSON, Fern M (nee Lehigh) October 5, 1922 – August 23, 2019 At the age of 96, Fern played her last hand. She is now off to a new game where she will fill her spot at a table with her beloved husband, Claude (2003), daughter Diane (1987) and son, Tim (2000) (Gisele). At another table sits her parents, reverend Malcom and Sadie Lehigh along with her brothers, Victor, Herbert, Beaumont, and sisters Gladys, Nora, Lola and Gene. Left to mourn her loss are her three sons, John (Connie), Stan (Darlene) and Dennis (Danielle), her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Fern was a stay at home Mom who had a fulltime job raising her family of five. Mom’s true passion in life, after her devotion to her family, was playing cards and doing her crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed attending her son’s sporting events especially baseball and hockey. Having raised a very close family, she will be greatly missed. Family would like to thank the Shallow Lane staff at Heron Terrace for the special care and compassion they provided during Fern’s stay at the home. A private family service and interment at Windsor Memorial Gardens has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Riverside Sportsmen Club on Thursday, August 29, at 1 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
