Obituary of Charles John Bosnyak
Bosnyak, Charles “Charlie”, Born April 14, 1927 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 1, 2019 at the age of 92. Beloved and dedicated husband of Elizabeth (nee Koteles) for 67 years. Loving father of Helen Nickerson (Andrew), Chuck Bosnyak (Laurie). Devoted, kind and best Papa to Cailin Bosnyak (Sean Sheehan), Stephanie Bosnyak and Andrea Bosnyak (Edwin Yip), Allison Nickerson (Troy Boutilier), Kate Nickerson and the late baby Andrew Nickerson (1984). Charlie will also be remembered by grandson in-law Patrick Connell. Cherished Big Papa of Malcolm Grant, Connor and Clare Sheehan. Survived by his sister in-law Sarah Hasilo and predeceased by his brother Joseph Bosnyak and wife Mary of Detroit, MI. Dear uncle of Joseph (Stella), Mary Figurski (Gary), Annie Riselli (John) and Valerie Burton (the late Buz). Charlie was born in Czechoslovakia and immigrated to Canada in 1950 where he met his wife Elizabeth. He was a skilled trades body repair man and entrepreneur, having worked at Bull and Guathier Collision, Hawkswood Collision, and founder and co-owner of Ontario Collision. Charlie then moved on to the City of Windsor where he worked for 13 years until his retirement. Charlie was a hardworking man and was dedicated to his family. He was always there to support his family, his grandchildren meant the world to him, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He will be deeply missed. “Love is easy to understand in the hands of a working man” Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Road E, 519-253-7234, on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Words of remembrance at 7:30 p.m. Further visitation will take place at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Monday, August 5, 2019 from 12:30 p.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Hungarian Cultural Centre-Mindszenty Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated.
