Obituary of GIUSEPPE GUASTELLA

GUASTELLA, GIUSEPPE “Joe” It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Giuseppe Guastella in his 98th year, Sunday July 14, 2019. Giuseppe was born in Alcamo, Italy on November 5, 1921. He settled in Canada in 1948 and married Giovanna (nee Capodicasa) in 1952. He worked as a bricklayer for most of his career in Canada and was a respected long-term member of the International Union of Bricklayers. Giuseppe’s love of nature and gardening were well known to those who knew him. Many countless hours were spent tending to his garden and enjoying the outdoors, along with Sunday beach picnic days with family. Always smiling, singing and never one to complain, he was a true inspiration to his family and friends. His favourite sayings were “Be happy”, “Enjoy life” “Tutto Beni” and “What do you want better than this?” True to the way he lived his life. Giuseppe will truly be missed by his lovely wife of 67 years, Giovanna. His 3 daughters; Rosemary Strong (Richard), Angelica Rauhala (Timothy), and Maria Pearce (Richard) and 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Friday July 19, 2019 from 11am until time of Funeral Service beginning at 12 noon. A private family interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery at a later date.
