So sorry to hear about Mr. Malloy. He was my science teacher at the new CCH many moons ago. He was by far the best teacher I ever had! Working in education I have used his great teaching techniques/styles for my students. He will be greatly missed and was taken too soon.

Mr. Malloy taught me in grade 9, 10 and OAC. He was a great teacher. I last saw him at a Walmart on the early 2000's I said "hi sir!" And he replied "you can call me Gary now" We chit chatted he ripped on me for being a Leafs fan as he boasted about the Red Wings. I'll never forget the trip he organized for our OAC class to Northern Edge just outside Algonquin where he ended up thigh deep in water earning the nickname "pond scum" for the weekend. He was a great guy. So long sir, hopefully I'll see you on the side

Mr. Malloy was a one-of-a-kind caring teacher. He taught me exercise science over 15 years ago and I still remember his kind, gentle and caring demeanour. It was a privilege to know him and may he rest in peace.

To use the word "shocked" is an understatement. Gary was full of life and always ready to lend a hand to either lift a person up emotionally or physically. He certainly cared about people and it showed in all of his actions. He did not let school allegiances get in the way of ensuring that every student achieved their personal best, either in the classroom or on the field. Gary was fun. He was not a stranger to going out and having a good time. He could impersonate anyone after only a few minutes. Gary was truly a gentle and great person. Anyone who says anything negative about him is lying.

Hard to find the right words for such a gentleman--kind, caring , giving to others--he touched the lives of so many students and athletes over his career, and we will be forever grateful. I treasure my time with Gary as a good friend and co-worker.

When our Principal Ed Johnson was given the opportunity to choose a staff for the new Catholic Central High School in Windsor Ontario, he didn’t have to look far to find one of the best educators around. At the top of the list was Gary Malloy......a great teacher, phenomenal coach and lasting friend. His Spirit lives on there and certainly with everyone who has had the privilege of knowing this wonderful person. My condolences to his mom and all his dear friends. These words exemplify Gary so well......” to be with others, to be like others but to be the other.”

I regret that I will not be able to visit with friends and family nor attend the funeral of one of the kindest, more caring, and most dedicated people I have ever known, From that day in Grade nine at Riverside High School when Gary came out for his first cross-country practice, he was instantly an important part of the team. Even early in his career his leadership skills came to the surface. His quick wit and sense of humour enlivened many cross-country and track practices and kept his teammates smiling, while they slogged through gruelling workouts. As he progressed through high school, his work ethic and dedication made him a role model for the younger runners. While in university he returned to assist in coaching and helping set up the courses for city and district meets. I will ever be grateful to Gary and will miss his gentle nature and winning smile. May God comfort Mrs. Malloy and Gary's many friends and colleagues.

Gary was an incredible teacher and as dedicated as they come. His life was too short - he had so much more to give! As his principal, I could always count on him to put the student first and to give 100% in whatever classroom or extra-curricular he was doing. He will be greatly missed.

Gary was one of the kindest, sincere, and well-meaning persons I have ever had the pleasure of being associated with. We shared the same grade school, high school, and later the same profession and I have to reiterate what so many have been saying – he was the best! He was taken from us way too early but will never be forgotten. His legacy will be the countless hours he invested in our youth over the nearly 40 years of coaching and mentoring and as such will live on for many decades. Our hearts and prayers are with you, Mrs. Malloy, as you forge ahead through the difficult times ahead but rest assured that your dear Gary is with your late husband on the other side of the pearly gates with the rest of the Angels and our Saviour himself. Gary, my friend, so long and Guidbye Bye Bye for noo See ye efter!
