Obituary of Juraj "George" Cvitkovic

CVITKOVIC, Juraj "George" 89 years. It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving Husband, Father and Dido, on April 25, 2019 at Hospice Residential Home, Windsor, with his family by his side. Beloved husband to Maria "Maca" (nee Palaic) with whom he celebrated 56 plus years of marriage. Cherished and adored father "tata" to Marianne Sladic, Georgina "Đurđa" and husband Robert Gaggero; all of Windsor. Devoted grandfather "dido" to Michael Sladic of Victoria BC., and Evan Gaggero of Windsor. Loving brother to Katica Gidija and late husband Drago of Croatia, Dragica Gunjila and husband Steve of Mississauga, ON. Predeceased by sister Ljuba Sipak and brothers, Iva and Stefa Cvitkovic. Adored uncle "uja" to Carolyn and Guy Musinka and children Matthew and Luka, Irene and Joe Buntic and children Emma and Josip; all of Toronto, ON. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews in Canada, Croatia and U.S.A. George was a retired employee of Chrysler Canada after 30 years of dedicated service and a member of Unifor Local 444. Juraj was also a member and past treasurer of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church, member of Srce Isusovo and the Croatian National Soccer Club. He was a man that demonstrated unwavering love for his family and faith but, his greatest pride and joy in his life were his grandsons, Michael and Evan. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Stephen Rukavina and Hospice staff, especially nurses Julie, Brenda, Melissa, Thelma and Brandi. Our sincere gratitude also to all the PSW's, staff and volunteers for their warmth and compassionate care provided to our dear husband, tata and dido. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Friday May 3, 2019 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Friday at 4:30pm. Funeral service on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 9:15am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church (1701 Turner Rd., Windsor) for Funeral Mass at 10am. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Juraj's life, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Residential Home, Windsor or St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund.
