Obituary of Bohdan Galay

Dennis died unexpectedly at Met Campus Monday April 22, surrounded by his wife, his family and close friends. He leaves behind him the love of his life Kathy (Syroid) Galay who he cherished throughout their 57 years of marriage. Dennis was born in Montreal May 13, 1934 to Anna (1985) and Stephen (1955) Galay. He was predeceased by his in-laws Jennie and Harry Syroid (1999). He will be forever missed and loved by his sister-in-laws, Marie and Jeana Syroid, his godchildren Susan Dabrowski, Greg Masney, Michael Verzosa, Julie Cecillon, Mark Zeleney. His kind heart will be missed by his extended family relatives and friends in Montreal, Espanola and St. Catharines. He was an active member of the Ukrainian National Federation – Windsor Branch, Ukrainian Seniors – Zolota Zhoda, Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Windsor, Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Trident Club. He will be missed by his Wednesday GM buddies from the Trim Plant. He was an avid sports follower especially the Montreal Canadiens. He will be remembered for his wit , good humor, his joy of life and travelling adventures throughout the world with Kathy and his travelling friends. Thank you to the exceptional doctors and nursing staff of 3rd & 4th floor – Cancer Unit and ICU who went above and beyond in their care and compassion, Dr. Gupta and Dr. John Minardi and staff of Urgent Care. Visitation will be held at Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church (601 Lake Trail Drive, Windsor) on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 10:30am until the time of service at 12pm. Interment will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Donations in memory of Dennis may be made in appreciation to the Ukrainian National Federation – Windsor Branch, Sts.
