Obituary of Elizabeth Gillies

94 years. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on April 19, 2019 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She will be reunited with her loving husband of 59 years, John Archie (2008). Loving and devoted mother of Marilyn Chater (Mike), Pat Ord (Steve), Diane Kaus (Mike), John Gillies (Lee Ann), Murdock Gillies (Vary), Richard Gillies (Jackie), Jeff Gillies (Ken), Jane Mallen (Don), and Kim Tomljenovic (Mat). Cherished grandma to Jennifer (1996), Jessica (Adam), Shawn (Leslie), Katie (Stan), Stephanie (Joey), Erica, Brendan, Ryan, Adam, Maggie, Drew, Ben, Mackenzie, Murdock (Samantha), Colin, Elizabeth, Ceilidh, and Owen. Adored great-grandma to Oliver, Archie, Bennett, Liam, and Sophia. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a devoted mother and homemaker who proudly raised her 9 children. Her faith has always been dear to her as she was a long time member of Most Precious Blood Church. She loved to travel with her children. Elizabeth was known to be a sharp dresser and an avid card player. Her generosity and charitable giving to numerous organizations will be remembered and always appreciated. The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Boutros and Randa for all of their support, also to Leesa, mom`s hairdresser. A special thank you to Fr. E 519.253.7234 on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum) on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
