Obituary of Stanko Botica

BOTICA, Stanko It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Stanko “Stanley” Botica, on Sunday April 14th, 2019. He was born August 14th, 1962 in Ruda, Croatia. Beloved husband and best friend of Bozica Botica (nee Simic). He was the son of the late Martin and Iva Botica, and brother to his late sister (Neda). Loving brother to Ivan (Milenka), Stipan (Marina), Ana (Stipe), Milica (Marinko) and Neda (Stipe). Dear brother-in-law to Ruzica (Mile) Brkic, Angelina (Mario) Majic, Venka (Ivica) Spajic, and late in-laws, Iva and Rudolf Simic. Devoted long time friend and Kum to Ante Botica. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada and Croatia. Stanko was a dedicated employee of Hiram Walker with over 25 years of dedicated service. He was very proud of his Croatian heritage, an avid soccer fan and spent countless hours helping at functions for the Croatian Soccer Club of Windsor and St Francis of Assisi Church. Stanko will be greatly missed by family and countless friends. Although his life was cut too short, he will remain forever in our hearts. Our family would like to thank the staff at WRH, Met. Campus and EMS for their compassionate care. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Tuesday at 8pm. Funeral service on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 9:15am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church (1701 Turner Rd., Windsor) for Funeral Mass at 10am. Interment to take place in Ruda, Croatia at a later date. As an expression of sympathy in honouring Stanko's life, memorial donations may be made to the Croatian National Sports Club of Windsor or Sveti Martin Catholic Church in Ruda, Croatia.
