Dear Marcella, Proulx family and friends, For several years my association with Jean was as a counsellor at Riverside Secondary School. I was very fortunate to have her support in the guidance department, but more important was her friendship. Jeanne was a dedicated, knowledgeable and caring counsellor who was helpful to many students. She assisted students personally and academically in decision making, career planning, assisting graduate students in applying for University and College admissions and applying for scholarships and bursaries and lastly helping with post secondary job opportunities. Jeanne was greatly respected by administration, staff and students. Students and parents regularly sought her advice in making important career decisions. Jeanne was a true educator. I am very saddened to read of "Miss Proulx"'s passing. Even as a five year old in her kindergarten class in the basement of St. Anne's church in 1959 her gentleness and kindness were remarkable and obvious. I met her again about 10 years later when she was "Mme Proulx" at Walkerville. Not just one of my favourite teachers - one of my favourite persons. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.
