Debbie & Bruce, One of my memories of your Mom has to do with how she managed to influence me as a teenager. Back when Grandma Pillar died, my Mom and I dropped by for a visit at your home on Elm St. While we chatted, Audrey suggested that I might want to prepare for Grandma’s funeral by getting a haircut. She also suggested that I could go to a barber who was just around the corner from your place. My Mom thought it was a good idea too and so, off I went. The barber was an older gentleman who had his own ideas about what constituted proper grooming and before I knew what was happening, I was sporting a gosh awful buzz cut. I was mortified and knew that I would never live it down. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank your Mom for that momentous turning point in my life. I did not get another real haircut until the summer before I started attending St Clair College. I believe that having shoulder length hair through high school in the mid 70’s was really cool and I might not have done it, if I hadn’t been led to the precipice of shame that day so long ago... Love you guys, Your cousin Tom
