Obituary of Gilbert Philip Parent

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on the evening of March 10, 2019, at 84 years of age. Reunited at last, with his beautiful wife Sharon (nee O’Connor) (2009). Proud father of Becky and of the late Michael (1981). Dear grandfather of Elizabeth Dietrich, Alexandra Dietrich and husband Brandon McLachlan. Welcoming him to heaven are his parents Hector and Irene, brothers; Moe, Phil, Edgar and sisters; Marilyn, Patti and sister in-law Ruth Ann. Gil will be missed by many loving brothers and sister in-laws from the O’Connor and Parent families, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Gilbert was a proud retiree of General Motors Transmission Plant after 40 years of dedicated service. He was also Past Grand Commander of Alhambra Garcia Caravan #230, dedicated to improving the lives of "God's Special People, those living with disabilities and special needs. Gilbert maintained the belief that all people are created equal and are deserving of equal opportunities and a second chance. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E 519-253-7234-on Wednesday March 13, 2019 from 6-9pm. Prayer service of the McGregor Alhambra Garcia Caravan #230 Wednesday at 8pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday March 14, 2019 at 10:30 am in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
