It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of a loving Husband, Father, Nonno and Brother, on March 4, 2019 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of 47 years to Angela (nee Sauro). Loving and devoted father to Gianna and Joe Stammler, Isabella and Chris Lemieux. Cherished Nonno to Jack and Nicholas Stammler, and Michael Lemieux. Predeceased by parents Achille and Giovanna Calamita of Bari, Puglia, Italy. Dear son in-law to Maria Sauro (late Raffaele). Will be remembered by brother in-law Ericolino and Maria Conte, Antonio and Filomena Greco. Adored Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Michele loved spending time with his three grandsons, who were his pride and joy. He retired from the GM Trim Plant after 32 years of dedicated service and was a member of CAW Local 1973 and the Giovanni Caboto Club. Mike was an avid bowler, achieving three perfect games and loved spending time with his bowling buddies. He volunteered tirelessly at Bingos to support many different organizations. Mike was also involved in his daughters' figure skating lives. He supported, cheered and was comforting through their wins and losses and many accomplishments. His generous nature and kind heart lead him to serve as a Board Member and President of the Riverside Figure Skating Club and Chairman of the Riverside Competitive Skaters (Windsor) Club, where he supported many local skaters.
