Obituary of Leonardo Pietro Farina

Born April 29, 1927 - Died February 2, 2019 Passed away peacefully, at Herron Terrace, surrounded by his loving family. Reunited with his Loving wife Vittoria (nee Ricci) with whom he celebrated over 60 years of marriage. He is also reunited with his parents Domenico and Giuseppa Farina and his children Domenica, Filomena and Dino Farina. Devoted father of Mario Farina and wife Bonnie, Filomena and husband Mario Petitta and daughter-in-law Sandi Farina. Adored grandfather “Ninnee” of Nicky, Mike, Teresa, Loreta and Bentonio. Dear brother of the late Mario and late Maria Rosa Farina, the late Domenica and late Mario Grosso, the late Michele and late Italia Farina, and the late Raffaella and late Gaetano Martini. Dear brother-in-law of the late Benedetta and late Antonio Loi, late Maria and late Vincenzo Di Cocco, and late Annina and Andrea Tersigni. Leonardo will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Leonardo was born in Posta Fibreno, Italy and immigrated to Windsor in the mid-1950's to provide a better life for his wife and children. Leonardo was a past president and dedicated member of the Liuna 625. He will always be remembered for his love of wine making, bocce, hunting, gardening and especially spending time with his family and friends. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Wednesday February 6, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday February 7, 2019 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Prayers Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Service Friday February 8, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In memory of Leonardo’s late son Dino, memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
