DITTMER, Irene
It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Dittmer announces her passing, on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the age of 78. Irene will be lovingly remembered by her husband James, of 58 years, and their children, Jimmy (Andrea), Dawn Falkner (Rick), and Rob (Hanoch). Irene will also be fondly remembered by her three grandchildren, Ricky (Michelle), Christopher (Chantelle), Justin (Evan), and her 9 great-grand children. She is also survived by her sister Donna Roy (John). Predeceased by parents, Frank and Doris Urbanski, and brother Frank (Olga) Urbanski. Irene was an accomplished pianist, long-time piano teacher, and organist at St. Michael’s Church, who had inspired the lives of hundreds of students through her passion for music. The family would like to thank Dr. Upneja and Dr. McFarlane for their exceptional care, as well as the nurses at Windsor Regional Hospital, especially Misty, Danielle, Heidi, Katelyn, Christa, Janice, Natasha. Special thanks to Tracy and staff from CCAC and all the nurses from Hôtel-Dieu Grace Health Care.
Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East 519-253-7234 on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers at 8pm. Funeral service on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 beginning at 9:15am from the funeral home going in procession to St. Michael’s Catholic Church (2153 Parkwood Avenue) for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Those who desire may make donations to Transition to Betterness, an organization which provided comfort and support to the family during this difficult time.
