Obituary of Anna Crack

CRACK, Anna (nee Filip) Born February 9, 1921 in Hradec, Slovakia. Passed away December 15, 2018 at the age of 97. Beloved daughter of John (1948) and Mary (1989) Filip. Predeceased by brother Steven (2017). Loved and cherished mother of Paul (Cathy). Anna came to Canada when she was 14 and spent most of her early years in Stoney Point. She was very proud to be a Canadian. In 1961 at the age of 40, she returned to school - Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital to become a Registered Nursing Assistant, graduating July 1964. She worked many years at Metropolitan Hospital, walking from her house on Chilver Road. Anna loved her church, was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church. Active in the Altar Guild and Sunday morning bible studies. She will also be remembered for her baking and her green thumb, taking great pride in her flower gardens, winning a Civic Beautification Award in 1996. The family would like to thank her neighbors Helen and Lloyd for helping her stay in her home till she was 94, Gayle for her visits at the retirement home and Cindy from the church for visiting and keeping mom current with church news. The family wishes to recognize the great care she received at Seasons Belle River. The special efforts given by the PSW's and Health care providers were amazing-Thank you. The final stage of her journey was at Erie Shores Hospice in Leamington, providing care, comfort and dignity is the mission of all staff and volunteers-Thank you Pastors Azevedo, Stressman and Bugbee made pastoral visits to Mom at Seasons that provided spiritual care. Thank you. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. On Wednesday, December 19, 2018, family and friends will be received for visiting at First Lutheran Church (160 Giles Blvd. W.) from 10am. until time of Funeral Service at 11am. Rev. Robert Bugbee officiating. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Anna's life, memorial donations may be made to the Erie Shores Hospice.
