Obituary of Cecil Devon DeCoteau

Cecil Devon DeCoteau, 80, of Trinidad & Tobago passed away Wednesday November 28, 2018 surrounded by family. Cecil passed away after a battle with kidney disease; while being attended to by a very attentive and compassionate medical staff at the Windsor Metropolitan Hospital " Intensive Care Unit in Windsor, ON.Cecil was born on September 20th, 1938. He graduated from Osbourne High School in 1953. On June 16th, 1963 he married Verna (nee David) DeCoteau and moved from Trinidad to Canada to attend and graduate from the University Of Windsor, Canada in 1967 and he received a Master"s degree in Business the following year. Cecil was employed as a federal business banker for the Government of Canada for 25 years. He enjoyed his retirement by travelling and working around the home. He enjoyed watching and following the local sports teams of Detroit especially the Detroit Lions. He enjoyed reading the news and current events, gardening and spending time with his grandchild Antoine.Cecil is survived by his wife Verna, two sons, Devon and his wife Melanie of Toronto, Ontario, Darren and his wife Stephanie of Windsor, Ontario and grandchild Antoine and extended family of many nieces and nephews in Trinidad. Will be extremely missed by his local cousin Joan Bennett and husband Cameron and family. Predeceased by brother Oscar DeCoteau.Visitation and celebration of life will be held on Thursday December 6th, 2018 at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm. Parish prayers Thursday at 4:30pm. Visitation will continue on Friday December 7th, 2018 from 9:00am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Atonement Church (2940 Forest Glade Dr., Windsor). Interment to follow at St. Anne"s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada"Windsor Essex. http://www.kidney.ca/WindsorEssex.
