Obituary of Maureen Anne Gervais

Gervais, Maureen Anne (O"Neil)November 6, 1939 - November 11, 2018Passed away peacefully at Hospice (Leamington). Loving wife and best friend to Paul for over 57 years. Much loved mother to Glenn (Vinka), Karen Johnson (Ian), Sheila Dietrich (Bruce), Denise (1994), Michael (Karen). Very special Grandma to Alex, Zack, Eric, Michaela, Kaitlin, Erin, Lauren, Annika, and Linus. Daughter of Charles and Evelyn O"Neil. Beloved sister to Edward, Jim, and Pat. Predeceased by siblings Shirley, Jean, and Gary.Maureen retired from the Windsor Catholic School Board and especially enjoyed her many years as a Kindergarten teacher. Her retirement years were spent enjoying family, friends, wintering in Florida, and gardening. Maureen loved adventure and travelled the world with Paul. She spent many hours volunteering in the Children"s ward, the Stroke ward, and the Coffee Bar all at WRH Ouellette Campus Hospital. Nine special years were dedicated to the Windsor Hospice where Maureen was able to offer the same kindness, compassion, and care that was shown to her in her final days. Many thanks to Dr. D. Ziter, Dr. G. Annisette, and the Hospice team of Dr. Burgess, Paris, Seana, Monique, Janice, and Kate for their amazing care of Maureen. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 2-5pm & 7-9pm with parish and Catholic Women"s League prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Our Lady of the Atonement Church (2940 Forest Glade Dr.) at 10am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Catholic Cemetery.
