Obituary of Richard John Popovich

POPOVICH, Richard John<br/>September 3, 1953 - November 25, 2020<br/>It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Richard John Popovich, in Hamilton, Ontario. Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife and cruising partner of 40 years, Brenda Popovich (nee Bowyer). Adored father of Jaclyn Tait (Will "1"), Jeffrey Popovich (Samantha) and Jillian Comartin (Will "2"). Cherished Grampa of Raymond, Keighan, Kathryn, Scarlett, Stella, Samuel, Norah and Henry. Richard was predeceased by his parents George (2008) and Peggy (2002). Son in-law of Nora and Raymond (1999) Bowyer. Remembered by siblings George (Adele), Gloria (2017) Evans (Allan), Kevin Bowyer (Denise), Kirk Bowyer (Mary) and Becky Wilkinson (Tom). Beloved uncle to many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dearest friend of many - you all know who you are. Richard was an employee of General Motors Transmission in Windsor for 30 years. He had a great passion for his bent grass, travel, playing golf with his buddies and spending Sundays with the loves of his life - his grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. Caroline Hamm (Windsor) and Dr. Tobias Berg, Dr. Kylie Lepic, Dr. Joanna Dionne, Fraser Hall, Samantha Dykstra and all the nurses and staff at the Juravinski Hospital (Stem Cell Transplant Unit) - Hamilton who were instrumental in providing amazing care for Richard. <br/>Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) on Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 1-4pm and 6-8pm. A private family funeral service will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. Reservations and masks are required to attend the visitation, funeral service and cemetery service.
