Obituary of Robert George Slater

SLATER, Robert “Bob” George Passed away peacefully with family at his side on November 21, 2020 at the age of 76. Son of the late Edgar and Elizabeth (Cullen) Slater. Loving Husband of Pat (Cobean) for 52 years. Devoted Father of Rob (Laura) and Dave (Sandra). Proud Grandfather of Ryan, Emma, Alex and Sophia. Survived by his brother Edgar (Ruth) Slater and brother-in-law Doug (Helen) Cobean, as well as by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Murray and Kathy Lee. Bob was a proud retiree of Chrysler Canada, where he worked as a pipe fitter for 38.5 years. He was fortunate to enjoy many years of healthy retirement with Pat and his family. Bob enjoyed bowling, golf, cars, fixing things and Lake Huron sunsets. He will be sadly missed, but always remembered by his family and friends. The Slater family would like to thank the staff at Heron Terrace, specifically Dr. Jervis and the wonderful, caring staff of Meadows Point for the excellent care provided to Bob. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Respectfully, with the health and safety of all our loved ones in mind, a private funeral has taken place.
