Such a special man - Married my husband Greg and I, 30 years ago - Yes, Father Al - It took! He baptized my children, officiated my best friend''s wedding and my mother in law''s funeral. He was also a good friend of my father. My father passed away in June. When I called Al, he came right out to the hospital to bless my dad. Well, Bless you Father Al - you will always hold a special place in our hearts! Our deepest condolences to his family.

Fr. Al is a long time family friend dating back to our years in Stratford and more recently with us at Good Shepherd parish. Fr. Al visited our place often and of course I had to serve my best California red wine. You have always been a special person to us and our extended family and your great laugh and sense of humour will never be forgotten. Our deepest sympathy to all of the family of Father Al.

Father Al... I wish I would of had the opportunity to have that lunch with you and Shirley or was able to be at Devonshire when you were there last but my mom was able to sit for confession with you and she was so happy yo see you. My fondest memory of you is your warmth and inviting soul. It is a privilege to be able to say you married Pete and I 20 yrs ago. To see your face at my dad''s funeral brought such a sense of comfort... thank you. My father believed being a Christian was a verb not a noun and you epitomized that and touched so many of us parishioners. God welcomes you Home. God Bless You.

Remember his Easter letters and his final story in them that was said by a child. . A blessing that God will comfort you and gift you with ways to always remember his saintly life and follow his example.. He and Fr Larry were a gift to the diocese and the world. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our dear friend, pastor, and good man. We have no doubt that he is being welcomed into paradise right now, and our Lord is telling him "Well done, good and faithful servant". We now have another advocate in heaven to whom we can turn in times of trouble and ask for intersession on our behalf. May God rest his soul in peace and grant consolation to us who will miss him greatly.

I was a priest from 1985-1997. Although I have been married these last 20 years, while I was a priest and since that time, when I think of great priests I worked with, Al has always been one of the first I think of. What a fine human being. What an example of what it is to be an authentic priest. I am grateful for him in my life. Our condolences to all of you in the family who will miss him a lot.

Fr. Al was always a delight to run into. He intersected my life at many turns over 30 years, first as my pastor at Most Precious Blood Church and later as the priest connected to St. Bernard School where I worked. In times of difficulty he was there. On the evening of September 11, 2001 a Mass was arranged quickly at St. Gregory Church. I remember that Fr. Al told us that despite what had occurred that were called to act with love. He spread the Good News and showed us how to connect with people. I will miss him and know that he is a saint I have known.

A wonderful man that I had the pleasure of being an alter server for 4 years at St. Vincent de Paul parish. With my family, I enjoyed many masses that were celebrated to a full church on Sundays as a child. I was also fortunate to hear many more masses celebrated at St. Gregory the Great (Good Shepherd) parish as an adult. I will always remember the reaction my parents gave when he unexpectedly was the first at the funeral home to pay respects to my Nonno in 2005. He was a much needed light during a time of sadness. I will be forever grateful for his part in laying my mother to rest in 2017, despite feeling sick at the time. My condolences to the family of Father Al for your loss. There are many more who will grieve with you for the loss of a great man.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of dear Fr. Al. I first met Fr. Al when he became pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Windsor, ON which was my childhood parish. I was heavily involved with parish activities, so Fr. Al was like family. He was a huge influence in bringing my father back to the Catholic faith. Ill always remember that. When I moved back to the Windsor area with my family after being away for 14 years, I was so pleased to see Fr. Al regularly at nearby St. Gregorys Church. My husband and I would see him walking often during our own walks around Beach Grove golf course. He remained very active in his retirement years. What an inspiration! He joined us frequently at our Christmas Carol Sing-a-longs at our house. What impressed me most was his ability to remember various events in our familys life. We will miss receiving his annual Easter message in the mail and seeing him out and about in the area. Fr. Al was a beautiful person who will always have a special place in our hearts. He will be greatly missed. May Fr. Al rest in peace. Amen.
