Obituary of Giuseppina Racanelli

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 29, 2018 at the age of 89. Reunited with her beloved husband, Giuseppe (2015) with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage. Loving mother of Tina (Frank) Iatonna, Mary Foster, the late Rita Mullen (2011), Carmela "Melina" (Mike) McAiney and Vincenzo Racanelli. Cherished Nonna to Laura Mullen, Michael (Mariane) Iatonna, Jason (Anne) Mullen, Melissa (Ryan) Broderick, Ashley McAiney, Alison McAiney, and Theresa McAiney. Proud Bis-Nonna to Charlotte, John, Liam, Nina, Nolan and Anthony. Survived by brother Vito Perna of California. Predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Josie will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, USA and Italy. Josie was a loving and caring person and cherished her Sunday gatherings with her family where cooking for them brought her great joy. A special thank you to Dr. Dhar and the ICU nurses at Metropolitan Campus. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East 519-253-7234 on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 2-4pm and from 7-9pm. Parish prayers at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St. Anne"s Parish, 12233 Tecumseh Road East, from 12:30pm until the time of Funeral Mass at 1pm. Cremation to follow at Heavenly Rest.
