Obituary of Michael Manchurek
MANCHUREK, Michael It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving father and grandfather on September 24, 2018 at the age of 94. Predeceased by wife Viola (2016) and never forgotten friend Phyllis (2009). Will be dearly missed by his children, Michael Manchurek (Linda), Mary Wiseman, Jeannie Fields (Barry), Donna Manchurek. Adored grandpa to Kristina Wiseman, Dan Manchurek (Trish), Daryl Manchurek (Karen), Jenny Winter (Hank). Great-grandpa to Katelyn, Baylie, Rhiannon, Kody. Will be sadly missed by friend Dorothy Borman. Son of the late Peter and Mary Manchurek. Dear brother to Edward, and predeceased by siblings Alex, Frank, Rose, Victoria and Dora. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Michael retired in 1988 from Kelsey Hayes. He was an active member of local 195 and served as Plant Chairman. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255 and the Moose Lodge. Michael served with the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII. Many thanks to Dr. Seski for his compassionate care. Special thanks to all the staff and his friends at Lifetimes at Riverside. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Michael"s life, memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A combined Veterans and Funeral Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Services Committee will take place on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 10:30am in the Chapel.
