Obituary of Zenaida Motolko
Zenaida Motolko (nee Sidoryk), passed away suddenly on August 7 in her 91st year. She lived proudly and independently in her own home for the past 65 years, enjoying amazing health and alertness for her age. Born in Bochany, Poland in 1927, she immigrated to Canada as a child in 1938. She lived in Windsor, Ontario, where she married Maxim Motolko in 1946. He passed away in 2000. She is survived by her daughter Zonia Motolko, her son Dr. Michael Motolko (Kathryn Joy), grandchildren Dr. Kelly Williams, (Dr. Travis Williams), Alexander Motolko and Carolyn Joy Motolko. Zena or "Baba" as she was affectionately called, was very family orientated and took great pride in the activity and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She loved to make home preserves and some of our fondest memories are of her spending many happy hours canning the various fruits and vegetables that were grown in her back yard garden. She had a love of music, with a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed participating in her local Russian choir. In addition to her vegetable garden, she loved her flowers with a particular fondness for pink and white hydrangeas which reached massive proportions. Zena was a very quiet and deeply private person. To honor her wishes, there will be a private burial. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
