Obituary of Robert Forshaw

It is with broken hearts his family mourns the passing of Robert (Bob) Forshaw on July 21 2018 at the age of 77 years. Bob was a loving, happy man; husband of 56 years to his wife Eilleen; father to his children and their spouses Lorraine Kelly Stowell, Eric Monique and Susan and Andre Gaudreau; and his grandchildren Autumn, Sharlet, Alex, Maggie, Erica, Rose and Noelle; and a good friend to so many. Whenever Bob entered a room he always left with a new group of friends. He would always find common interests with people and was known as "Joe Friendly". He was a happy gregarious soul who loved to have his family around him to share his stories and his wisdom. He would always lend a hand to fix anything or build anything from his brother in laws bard, to his neighbours motorcycle. He had so many hobbies and skill sets like jacquard weaving, photography, bookbinding, building radio controlled sail boats from scratch. He spent his lifetime doing family genealogy of his own family and anyone else who asked for his help to do research. Bob appreciated a fine wine and built his own wine cellar. He loved a great writing pen and pencil set and collected many over the years. He was the "Grill Master" of the BBQ and could cook anything perfectly from steak, fish vegetables. He was Eilleen's sous chef extraordinaire and had all the speciality knives to make anything she wanted happen. He finished his working life in the machine tool industry in engineering and pioneered their use of CAD/CAM technology. He travelled extensively in Europe, China, Korea as well as to many other countries procuring and consulting for his company. He was a self-taught man who even taught himself how to read and write Mandarin. A great man has left his mark on this world and will be missed by many. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East 519-253-7234 on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 2pm until the time of Bob"s Celebration of Life at 3pm, with visiting to continue until 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Transition to Betterness program at Windsor Regional Hospital. We would like to thank the staff there who made his last days as comfortable as possible and for their attentiveness towards us as well. Log on to www.t2b.ca to make your donations.
