Obituary of Mitchell Oncea

ONCEA, Mitchell July 18, 1927 " July 14, 2018Survived by wife of 68 years Eleanore (Cuku), children Michelle, Marcie, Mitchell (Shari), Ian (Linda), grandchildren Corey, Alaina, Cristina, Rebecca, MacKenzie, Scott, great-grandchildren Jayna and Danah. Predeceased by his parents Joita (Cojocar) and Sandu Oancea, siblings John, Dorothy, George, Nick, Mary, Anne, Lola, Bill and Danny. Mitch"s parents Immigrated to Canada from Romania in the early 1900"s. They settled on land near Limerick Saskatchewan where they built a 2 room sod house, cleared the land, raised a family and farmed until 1937 when they relocated to Windsor, Ont. Mitch was an active member and Council President for many years at St. George"s Romanian Orthodox Church and Graiul Romanesc, also attended St. John the Divine Church. He loved fixing and refinishing furniture, his cars and was a good dancer. Visitation to be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George"s Romanian Orthodox Church (1960 Tecumseh Rd.
