Obituary of Elsie Olga Blak

Passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital " Ouellette Campus on July 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91. Reunited with her beloved husband, Peter, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage. Loving mother of Virginia (David) Genoway, Victoria (Samuel) Corken, Anthony (Stella) Blak, Valarie (Douglas) Gill, and Gregory (Angela) Blak. Cherished grandmother of Philip (Jodi) Genoway, Peter Genoway, Robert Genoway, Jenny (Jeff) Masselis, Peter (Zeinab) Blak, Julie Gill, Daniel Gill, Stefani (Alex) McMahon, Thomas Corken, Alex Corken, Alexander Blak, and Adam Blak. Very proud great-grandmother to Jacob, Joshua, Benjamin, Isabelle, Adam, Lainey, and Anthony. Predeceased by parents, Fred and Jennie Kondruk. Treasured sister to Alex (Doreen) Kondruk, the late Edward (Germaine) Kondruk, and the late William (the late Lillian) Kondruk. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Elsie was well known as the proud matriarch of Blak"s Bakery at 1022 Langlois Avenue in Windsor. She was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she was the past president of the Catholic Women"s League for many years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Women"s Auxiliary. Elsie was also a member of the Ontario Scarlett, Nobles Ladies; the Moose Lodge; and the Polish Border City Club. Elsie enjoyed sharing her decade"s worth of Windsor memories with those she loved, her devotion to her friends and family will be missed by each life she touched. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Road East 519-253-7234 on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 7-9pm and on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 2-5pm and from 7-9pm. Scarlett Nobles and Ladies prayers on Wednesday at 7pm followed by parish prayers at 7:30pm. Funeral service on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 9:15am leaving the funeral home to Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish (1035 Ellis Street East) for Funeral Mass at 10am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Donations in memory of Elsie can be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation or to the Holy Trinity Building Fund. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the hospital staff at Windsor Regional " Ouellette Campus.
