Obituary of William Bascar Abanid

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of William on November 11, 2020 at 78 years of age. Loving husband and best friend of Daylindita with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Cherished father “Pops” of Jonah (Nancy), Enrique (Jennifer), Len, Laarni, Gerald and William Jr. Much loved grandfather “Lolo” of Ayrton, Trinity and Madeline. Dear brother of Cinto and Omok. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and dear friends in Canada, US and the Philippines. William retired from the construction industry as a heavy duty mechanic after 30 years of dedicated service. When William was not working, he could be found spending time with family and friends and preparing his special lechon for all to enjoy. His love and kindness will be missed by all. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. East on Sunday November 15, 2020 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. On Monday November 16, 2020, relatives and friends with a reservation are invited to meet directly at Our Lady of the Atonement Parish (2940 Forest Glade Dr.) for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. Masks are required at visitation and Funeral Service. Reservations are required to attend the Funeral Mass.
