Obituary of Graham Donald

Graham passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Graham is now reunited with Joyce (2017), his cherished wife of 60 years. Loving father to Kevin Donald (Emilie Girard-Ruel) of Ottawa, and daughters Judy Henry (Jeff) of Toronto and Sheryl Marentette (Tom) of Tecumseh. Proud Pa to grandchildren Thomas, Julia, Graham and Cecile. Predeceased by his parents Jesse and Robert Donald of Hamilton, and his brother Robert Donald of Waterloo. Graham was born and raised in Hamilton, where he met the love of his life, Joyce Bates. Soon after marrying, Graham and Joyce moved to Detroit, MI, where Graham embarked on a long and successful career in the automotive tool industry, as a senior executive with Lasalle Machine Tool. A devoted family man, Graham enjoyed a lifelong journey with Joyce, raising three wonderful children, and living life to the fullest. Graham took great pride in the activities and achievements of his children and grandchildren. He was happiest at family gatherings " surrounded by loved ones, sharing in their experiences, always smiling and bringing warmth to those around him. A gifted athlete and avid sports fan, Graham enjoyed coaching amateur sports teams, and attending local sporting events with family and friends. A longstanding member of Beach Grove, Graham loved golfing, and he and Joyce regularly played golf as part of an active lifestyle. Family vacations were an annual ritual, and Graham and Joyce enjoyed an adventurous spirit, travelling extensively, and wintering together in Florida throughout their retirement years. As per Graham s request, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel), 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234, on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 5-8 pm. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 12:30 pm at Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton, Ontario. In kindness, donations may be made in Graham s name to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research. The family would like to acknowledge the tremendous care and compassion provided by the staff at Huron Lodge.
