Obituary of Marija Galinac

GALINAC, Marija (nee Ribic)Born in Selo Vrskovac, Vivodina, Croatia on January 15, 1926. Passed away peacefully on April 21, 2018 at Extendicare, Tecumseh while surrounded by her loving family at the age of 92. Reunited with her beloved husband, Dragutin "Drago" (2003). Loving mother to Janko Galinac and wife Ankica of Tecumseh. Cherished majka to Ivan Galinac and wife Marina of Lakeshore, Mary-Ann Bubb and husband Matthew of Australia, Kristina Brcic and husband Peter of Tecumseh. Great-grandmother to Maya, Ezekiel, Nela, Maria, Adrina and Niko. Predeceased by parents Nikola and Katarina Ribic. Dear sister to Jelka Borojevic and her late husband Ljubo, late Joza Ribic, late Lovra Ribic, late Jana Ribic, late Nikola Ribic and wife Ana, Antun Ribic and wife Danica; and all of their families in Australia; Ivan Ribic and wife Katica and their families of Brampton, ON.; and late Marko Ribic-Yarnevich. Dear sister in-law to late Nikola Lukacic and wife Kata; and their families of Croatia, and Jana and her family of Argentina. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was a retired employee of Metropolitan Hospital with many years of dedicated service. Mrs. Galinac was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church and the Krscanska Zena. Marija was a proud, strong and faithful supporter for the Freedom, Independence and Democracy of Croatia. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Banwell Gardens and Extendicare Tecumseh for their compassionate care provided to Marija and her family throughout the years. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel), 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Tuesday 8pm. Funeral Services on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 9:30am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30am Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church Building Fund or Alzheimer Society of Windsor-Essex County.
