Obituary of Vlado Gacanin

Passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2018 at 94 years of age. Loving husband of Gospava with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Much loved father of Fr. Theodore Gacanin and wife Nadine and the late Mirijana Gacanin. Cherished Djedo of Melenia Kekropidis and husband Perry, Sofia Lefleur and husband Chris Murray, Peter Gacanin and wife Stephanie and Aleksandra Milic and husband Srdjan. Great Grandfather of Jana, Maksim, Kaja, Anastasija, and Xenia. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and other extended family in Canada, Serbia and Republika Srpska. Vlado immigrated to Canada in 1963 and devoted many years to his career as a general contractor. He was also a long-time member of St. Dimitrije's Serbian Orthodox Church and had a love for folklore music. Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church (1420 Drouillard Rd.) on Monday April 2, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until time of Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Avenue, 519-253-7234. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Vlado donations can be made to Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church OR to St. Dimitrije's Serbian Orthodox Church.
