Obituary of Michael Browne

BROWNE, Michael Leonard "Mike"Passed away peacefully on Monday March 26th, 2018 at Windsor Regional Hospital " Ouellette Campus. Predeceased by his wife of 54 years Bonnie (nee Newman) 2015 and daughter Carolyn 2007. Survived by his loving children Marg Curran (Paul), and John Browne (Margaret). He leaves behind his adored grandchildren Ryan (Alesia), Ashley Browne, Caitlin (Aaron) Rochon, Jim, Jamieson, Brady, and Brendan Curran, and 7 great grandchildren. Mike is also survived by his 2 sisters Susan Long (Bob), and Cathie Bil (Ed) along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. Mike was owner and operator of Len Browne Insurance Brokers for over 25 years. He was a loved member of the community, serving as District Governor of The Rotary Club, along with his involvement in the lives of many young men who played Windsor Minor Lacrosse and Windsor Minor Hockey where he spent countless hours as a coach, manager and doing anything they asked of him. Mike touched many lives in our community. Please join his family for visitation at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home " South Chapel 3048 Dougall Avenue on Thursday March 29th from 6pm until the time of his life celebration at 7:30pm in the funeral home chapel. A private family burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mike to the Rotary International Foundation in care of the Windsor-St. Clair Rotary Club.
