Obituary of Josip Korenic

April 13, 1930 " March 12, 2018With great sadness, we announce the passing of Josip Korenic, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Born in Dugace, Bosiljevo Croatia. Josip passed peacefully in the arms of his devoted daughter and surrounded by the love of his family. Loving husband to Slavica (nee Persic), with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage on March 2. Reunited with open arms by daughter and angel in heaven Nevenka "Nancy" (1978). Loving tata to Mira and husband Josip Pulez. Cherished Deda to Sylvia and husband Steven Basarac, Lydia and husband Petar Josic, and Nadia Pulez. Proud Pra-Deda to Luka and Niklas Basarac. Predeceased by parents Mijo and Veronika Korenic and sisters, Marica Liposcak, Ljubica Laslavic, and Nevenka Korenic. Brother-in-law to recently deceased Marica Maljkovic and husband Zoran of Croatia. Josip will be greatly missed by many extended family members and friends in both Canada and Croatia. His greatest pride and joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandsons that filled his heart with happiness. Josip was a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church since he arrived in Canada with his family in 1969. His eternal light and our love and memories of him will live in our hearts and minds forever. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 9:15am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10am. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations honouring Josip"s life may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church Building Fund.
