Obituary of Michal aka Mike Cikalo
Cikalo, Michael "Mike" October 27, 1923 " March 6, 2018Passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018 at Heron Terrace at the age of 94 years. He will be reunited with his loving wife of over 61 years, Katyryna (2008). Cherished father of Bogdan & Margaret Cikalo of Waterford, MI and John & Catherine Cikalo of Midland, MI. Loving grandfather to Robert Jr, Lisa, and Jeff. Adored great-grandfather to Logan, Lauren, and Mason. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings in Ukraine and is survived by many nieces and nephews in Ukraine. Mike was a founding member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church of Amherstburg and a parishioner of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church of Windsor. He was an active member of the Ukrainian Senior"s Zolota Zhoda. He retired from General Chemical in 1988. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Season"s Amherstburg and Heron Terrace for their wonderful care and compassion throughout dad"s later years. Also, a special thanks to Ed Allen for his support and friendship. Visiting will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E 519.253.7234 on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 3-5 & 7-9pm. Panakhyda on Friday at 7:30pm. Friends and family are asked to gather on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church (601 Lake Trail Drive, Southwood Lakes Windsor) from 9:30 until time of Funeral Service at 10am. Officiating the service will be Rev. Fr. Tom Hrywna and Fr. Peter Hrytsyk. Interment to follow at St. John Baptist Cemetery in Amherstburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church building fund. Cherished memories may be left with the family at www.windsorchapel.com.
