Dear Marilena, I am so sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose a parent no matter how old we are. I just wanted to share how much your mom meant to me especially as a child growing up she was like a second mother to me - always loving and accepting! I have such fond memories of coming to visit you and the fun we had. I learned how to make lasagna from my Santola and remember the day she taught me. To this day every time I make it I think of her! I feel so blessed to have had her in my life and even though as an adult moving away from Windsor and seeing her less and less over the years, her influence in my life remained. I like to think that I learned a little of her cooking expertise, but more importantly how she made everyone feel so loved by the care she put into the food she prepared for everyone. My daughters met Santola when they were little but my fond memories of her and her lasagna recipe has been carried on to them and she will forever be in our hearts. Thinking of you and Ezio and your nieces and nephew. With Love, Mila
